Fungsinya adalah mengkonversi aliran data pararel yang ada dalam bus komputer menjadi format data serial yang bisa dikirimkan melalui media jaringan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">Berikut beberapa fungsi dari NIC :<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol>\n<li>Sebagai alat untuk mengirimkan data ke komputer lain dalam jaringan<\/li>\n<li>Untuk mengotrol <em>data <\/em><em>flow <\/em>antara komputer dengan sistem kabel.<\/li>\n<li>Untuk menerima data yang dikirimkan dari komputer melalui kabel, kemudian mengubahnya menjadi bit agar dapat dipahami oleh komputer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 20px\"><strong>Repeater<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">Repeater merupakan alat yang memiliki tujuan untuk memperluas jangkauan sinyal WIFI sehingga area yang tidak bisa menerima sinyal WIFI dapat menerima sinyal tersebut. Diperlukan dua softwere untuk repeater, yaitu perangkat yang berfungsi untuk menangkap sinyal dari server (Client) dan perangkat yang beradari untuk menyebarkan sinyal WIFI (Access point).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">Berikut adalah fungsi dari repeater :<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol>\n<li><b><\/b>Untuk memperluas jangkauan sinyal dari <em>Server <\/em>(pemancar).<\/li>\n<li>Untuk memudahkan akses sinyal <em>WIFI <\/em>dari <em>Server<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Untuk memberikan sinyal diarea yang jauh dari <em>Server <\/em>(pemancar).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px\">Hub<\/span> <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">Hub adalah perangkat jaringan yang beroperasi di <em>OSI layer 1. Physical Layer<\/em>. Perangkat tersebut sebagai penyambung atau concentrator, dan menguatkan sinyal di kabel <em>UTP<\/em>. Menggunakan Hub dapat mengalami <em>collision<\/em>karena Hub tidak dapat mengenal <em>MAC Address \/ Physical Address<\/em>yang mengakibatkan tidak dapat memilah data yang akan ditransmisikan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">Berikut ini fungsi-fungsinya:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol>\n<li>Sebagai tempat untuk menambhakan atau mengurangi <em>workstation<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Mirip dengan Repeater yang memperluas jarak jaringan.<\/li>\n<li>Bisa mendukung <em>interface<\/em>yang berbeda ( <em>Ethernet, Token ring, <\/em>dan <em>FDDI<\/em>).<\/li>\n<li>Mempunyai fitur Fault Tolerance ( isolasi kerusakan )<\/li>\n<li>Mempunyai pengelolaan yang tersentralisasi ( koleksi informasi, <em>diagnostic<\/em>)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 20px\"><strong>Switch<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">Switch merupakan alat jaringan yang berfungsi di <em>OSI Layer 2, Data Link Layer. <\/em>Perangkat ini bertindak sebagai penghubung atau concentrator dalam suatu jaringan. Tidak seperti\u00a0 Hub, Switch tidak dapat mengalami collision karena Switch mampu mengenali\u00a0 <em>MAC Address <\/em>atau <em>Physical Address <\/em>sehingga Switch dapat memilah data yang akan ditransmisikan. Berikut ini fungsi dari switch :<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol>\n<li>Sebagai penguat atau repeater.<\/li>\n<li>Untuk menghubungkan kabel-kabel <em>UTP<\/em>( katagori 5\/5e ) antar komputer.<\/li>\n<li>Menghubungkan antar komputer dalam <em>LAN<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 20px\"><strong>Router<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">Router merupakan perangkat jaringan yang beroperasi pada <em>OSI Layer 3, Network Layer<\/em>. <em>Layer <\/em>ini dikenal dengan sistem pengalamatan jaringan yang menggunakan <em>IP Address<\/em>. Dengan demikian, Router berfungsi sebagai penghubung atau penerus paket data antara dua segmen jaringan atau lebih.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">Berikut ini fungsi dari router :<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol>\n<li>Sebagai penghubung antar dua atau lebih jaringan yang akan meneruskan data dari satu jaringan ke jaringan lainnya.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 20px\"><strong>Bridge<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">Bridge merupakan perangkat jaringan yang beroperasi di <em>OSI Layer 2, data-link. <\/em>Perangkat ini digunakan untuk menciptakan sebuah segmen jaringan atau meningkatkan jangkauan jaringan. Selain itu, dapat juga digunakan untuk menghubungkan dua jenis media jaringan yang berbeda, seperti kabel <em>UTP <\/em>dengan kabel serat optik atau bisa juga dengan dua buah arsitektur jaringan yang berbeda.
